Conflict Resolution Center
& Teen
Court Program
The Conflict Resolution Center provides cost-effective mediation
services and training to individuals, businesses, and organizations
in Cabarrus County. Trained mediators help clarify issues and
reveal various options, guiding parties to reach a workable and
binding agreement.
Teen Court is a diversion program for first-time misdemeanor
offenders and capitalizes on the positive effects of peer pressure.
Except for the judge, all participants in the courtroom are teens
who decide how teen defendants will be held accountable for their
actions.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Criminal Court Mediator – must be willing to participate
in training as required by the State of North Carolina.
- Mediator Helper – able to spend 2-3 hours to help trained mediators
on day a week (Thursday).
- For Teen Court: Jury Facilitators, Exit Interviewers, sign-in
coordinator. Must enjoy working with teens ages 11-17. Be able
to train four hours.
