Humane Society of Concord
& Greater Cabarrus
County
Select canines/felines from those offered by Animal
Control. We do a health and temperament assessment, vaccinations,
and spay/neuter all animals offered for adoption. Once an animal
is in our system, it is assured of being with us until finding
a forever home. We are a no-kill operation and are all volunteers.
We respond to some cruelty investigations and do what we can
to assist or direct those with limited funds in spaying and
neutering their animals. We are funded only through adoption
fees, donations, fundraising and some grants.
Volunteer
Opportunities:
- We participate in many fundraising activities throughout
the year. We need people to clean kennels, walk dogs, and socialize
cats.
- Foster homes (you must first work with us some and be approved
to foster and be able to transport animals to show during adoption
hours).
- We need contributors to our newsletter, assistance in poster
our animals and informing the public/media of our available animals
and our operations.
- Animals need transport to/from spay/neuter. People-power is
needed at all fundraisers to sell items and distribute information
– sometimes handling animals also.
- People needed to collect and organize statistical data to be
used in submitting grant requests.
